In fact, inhibition of hepatic SIRT1 activity is associated with an increase in the acetylated active nuclear form of SREBP-1c in the livers of ethanol-fed mice [33]. Moreover in ethanol-fed mice, resveratrol, a potent SIRT agonist, prevents alcoholic liver steatosis suppressing SREBP-1 and activating PGC-1a [35].
