Prior to receiving an ethanol injection, all animals were able to complete a 3 minute trial on the Rotarod apparatus. After administration of ethanol, both genotypes improved their performance over the course of the experiment (Main effect of time; F(6,108) = 26.702, p<0.001, ε = 0.604; Fig. 1A). However, KO mice were more impaired in their performance (main effect of genotype, F(1,18) = 13.775, p<0.01) and were slower to recover the ability to remain on the Rotarod for 180 seconds (genotype by time interaction, F(6,108) = 3.703, p<0.05, ε = 0.604).
