increased drinking, alcohol related problems, and DSMIV alcohol use disorders to SRE (Pedersen and McCarthy, 2009). One of their findings, that SRE and acute response were unrelated, differed from previous research on alcohol response. This present study examines (1) how the SRE as a measure of LR influences RDH in terms of quantity of alcohol and/or drinks per drinking occasion, and (2) the heritability of LR in non-alcohol dependent drinkers within a predominantly African American cohort. This paper hypothesizes that LR is heritable and influences current quantity of alcohol consumed and drinks per drinking day.
