within the communication domain was documented in an investigation that compared children with FASD to children with ADHD and controls on adaptive ability (Crocker, et al., 2009). Thus, children with prenatal alcohol exposure are likely to have increasing difficulty meeting the greater demands in social and communication function as they become teenagers and adults. Importantly, poor social skills observed in children with FASD are associated with executive dysfunction, and problem solving and planning deficits appear to contribute to interpersonal difficulty in this population (Schonfeld, et al., 2006).
