Text

Aggressive-disruptive behaviors were assessed by kindergarten teachers on the externalizing scale of the Teacher Report Form of the Child Behavior Checklist (TRF, Achenbach 1991), with 33 items (e.g., argues, fights, disobedient) rated on a 3-point scale (α=0.94 in this sample). Attention problems were assessed using the 20-item attention problem scale of the TRF (example: “Can’t concentrate, can’t pay attention for long”) rated on a 3-point scale (α=0.94 in this sample). Cognitive ability was assessed with the block design and vocabulary subtests of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children—IV, and reading skills were assessed with the letter-word identification subtest from the Woodcock-Johnson Psycho-Educational Battery—Revised. Age-corrected standard scores were used. More complete measure descriptions can be found at: http://www.fasttrackproject.org.
