Results from multivariate analyses, controlling for the presence of other comorbid SUDs, are presented in Table 2. These analyses revealed that CUD comorbidity in BD remained significantly associated with presence of psychosis and nicotine dependence, as well as a lower likelihood of an anxiety disorder diagnosis at the time of hospital admission. Over and above shared variance with comorbid other SUDs, there was no longer a significant association between CUD comorbidity and mood episode polarity or presence of an AUD.
