The next common response was having a superficial knowledge of some of the terminology associated with genetics, such as DNA, RNA, Helix, mutations, and so forth (36%). Interestingly, about 25% of the responses noted a lack of knowledge or understanding of genetics. For example, one respondent stated: “I have not a clue … That’s like asking me about rocket science.”
