Fromme, 2011; King et al., 2011b), or that engaging in frequent binge drinking in late adolescence and young adulthood, regardless of FH status, produces numerous systemic changes that ultimately result in the distinct alcohol response phenotype observed in our two independent samples. Future studies should attempt to clarify the relationship between FH and HD in order to determine whether these risk factors are synergistic or separate, as to better understand how these factors convey risk for AUD.
