Text

Although care must be taken when comparing results from male probands with the combined group of male and female offspring, the data in Tables 2, 5, and 6 offered similar support for Hypothesis 1 regarding the 158 offspring. These included significant correlations for all 4 SRE scores with both alcohol outcomes at both Time 1 and Time 2 in Table 2, and correlations with most cross-sectional and prospective alcohol outcomes that remained significant after considering covariates in Table 5. In Step 2 of the hierarchical multiple regression analyses in Table 6, SRE-H significantly contributed to the prediction of both outcomes in cross-sectional analyses and SRE-3 added significantly to prospective analyses. Once again, the data for offspring do not offer support for dropping any of the LR measures from future analyses.
