The study was approved by the Uppsala Animal Ethical Committee (C32/11), according to the Swedish Legislation on Animal Experimentation (Animal Welfare Act SFS1998:56) and the European Communities Council Directive (86/609/EEC). The experiment is described in detail in the supplement and the study outline is presented as Fig. S1. Outbred Wistar male rats (RccHan:WI, Harlan, Europe) were used.
