Text

African American students and community members served as home visitors to collect pretest and long-term follow-up data. During the pretest and long-term follow-up data collections, field interviewers who were blind to the families’ group assignments made one home visit lasting 2 hours to each family. The time from pretest to long-term follow-up averaged 29 months. Informed consent forms were completed at all data collection points. During the home visits, self-report questionnaires were administered to caregivers and youth in an interview format. Each interview was conducted privately, with no other family members present or able to overhear the conversation.
