The generalizability of PRS from this meta-analysis was examined in several non-European cohorts. PRS explained up to 2.3% and 1.9% of variance in BD in two East Asian samples, and 1.2% and 0.4% in two admixed African American samples (Fig. 2 and Supplementary Table 14). The variance explained by the PRS increased in every cohort with increasing sample size of the PGC BD European discovery sample (Supplementary Fig. 8 and Supplementary Table 14).
