assessment with the Semi-Structured Assessment for the Genetics of Alcoholism (SSAGA-IV) (for those 18 or older) or Children and Adolescent’s SSAGA (C-SSAGA-IV; for those aged 12–17). Results presented here reflect all assessments of individuals enrolled and interviewed beginning in January 2005 through September 2018, which include those ranging in age from 12–35. The sample was comprised of 3404 individuals, 70.3% White, 51.3% female, and 17.3% of whom were under the age of 18 at their most recent interview. Because the proportion of racial/ethnic groups other than White and African American was too low to permit multivariable analyses stratified by race, we only included individuals who self-identified as White or Black for the purposes of this study. The resultant figure (N= 3404) constituted 92.2% of the overall prospective cohort.
