To examine this phenomenon further, we compared all SNPs within the GSDML/ORMDL3 region to the expression of ILMN_1666206 in all tissues. Although expression was detected, we did not find significant associations with any SNPs in the brain, but found strong associations between probe expression and proximal SNPs in blood tissue (Fig. 4B). This locus therefore represents an example of a blood-specific eQTL.
