We evaluated the influence of predispositions on PTSD following an extreme event – sexual assault – versus each of three events of lower magnitude: accidents, disaster and unexpected death of someone close. Six predisposing factors were examined: preexisting MDD, GAD and AUD and parental history of alcohol abuse, drug abuse and incarceration. For each of the three comparison series, we estimated six weighted multinomial logistic regressions, one per predisposing factor. In each of the series, we used subgroups of the sample with the two index events being compared.
