Follow-up alcohol outcomes were similar for low and high LR subjects based on the original LR median split. However, consistent with Hypothesis 1, as shown at the bottom of Table 2, when baseline LRs were computed as continuous measurers, lower alcohol responses correlated with higher later maximum alcohol quantities and alcohol problems.
