Measures: A lifetime diagnosis of DSM-IV alcohol dependence was determined via self-reported interview information collected using the Semi-Structured Assessment for the Genetics of Alcoholism (SSAGA). Controls were individuals who had drunk alcohol at least once in their lifetime but did not meet criteria for alcohol dependence.
