Frozen liver tissue (50 mg), collected from mice fed ad libitum, was homogenized in ethanol (1 ml), cleared by centrifugation and the supernatant isolated for analysis. Hepatic triglycerides were measured using the Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO) serum triglyceride determination kit, as above.
