Second, as was predicted when the work with the low LR began in the 1970s and as demonstrated in structural equation models of how LR operates, the low LR was likely to have its greatest impact on how much a person drinks in a session as they consume the amount needed to get the desired effect (Schuckit, 2018; Schuckit & Gold, 1988; Schuckit et al., 2005b, 2008a, 2011a). Consistent with that conclusion, in the current analyses correlations between all LR measures and the number of alcohol criteria endorsed were less robust than correlations with maximum drinks.
