Another observation not included in our original hypotheses relates to the relationship of the low LR to personality measures. Prior papers had reported that low LR operated relatively independently of impulsivity, with the two phenotypes often correlating at about 0.10 (e.g., Schuckit & Smith, 2017; Schuckit et al., 2017). Fewer analyses focused on the relationship of low LR to sensation seeking. The data in Tables 3 and 4 regarding probands and offspring indicated that, compared with impulsivity, sensation seeking might be more closely related to LR. That said, it is important to note that these two personality characteristics were included as covariates in the analyses in Tables 5 and 6 where results continued to support most of the 4 hypotheses presented in Introduction.
