Text

The correlation between childhood maltreatment and cannabis problems (among N=1699 EA and N=318 AA users) was statistically significant and equally strong in the EAs and AAs (EA r = 0.28 [0.20, 0.37]; AA r = 0.26 [0.08, 0.44]). After controlling for age, EAs and AAs who experienced childhood maltreatment were at greater odds of reporting one or more cannabis problems than their counterparts without a history of maltreatment (OR = 2.32, [1.77–3.03]; OR = 2.03, [1.23–3.35], respectively).
