These findings suggest that NKAIN1-SERINC2 may also be implicated in alcohol dependence via the neurotransmitter systems or metabolic pathways, although the actual relationships between NKAIN1-SERINC2 and those neurotransmitter systems and signaling pathways can only be delineated with analyses beyond simple pairwise correlations.
