emotion using a paradigm in which neutral expression was instantaneously replaced by an emotional expression of the same face. Changes of emotional expression produced two distinct ERP components: N240 wave with a right temporoparietal maximum and a P300 wave with a centropariatal midline maximum. Genetic analyses revealed substantial heritability of both components (36–64% for N250 and 42–62% for P300 components, respectively), suggesting that neural processing of facial affect is strongly influenced by genetic factors.
