The only trauma-related significant hazard associated with transition from first use to first symptom was PA exposure and it was specific to EA women [HR= 1.16, 95%CI: (1.04–1.31)] (Table 3). Consistent with alcohol initiation findings, the largest magnitude risk was conferred by tobacco use [HR= 4.53 95%CI: (1.98–10.35)] for an AUD problem prior to the age of 14 and cannabis use [HR= 1.64, 95%CI: (1.48–1.81)] in EA women. For AA women, cannabis use increased the hazard of transition to an AUD symptom [HR= 2.18, 95%CI: (1.63–2.94)]. Posttraumatic stress disorder did not significantly increase the hazard for alcohol problems in EA or AA women.
