pH explained 2.1% of the variation in the RIN number from the MRC-UK brain bank (p = 1.0 × 10−4 ) (Fig. 2a).We note that six individuals had very low pH < 5.90 and when excluded, the correlation was no longer significant (Fig. 2b).
