current GO releases and contains the ontology and annotations files from 2005–2018 as well as the legacy MySQL dumps of GO from 2005 to 2016. Future plans include producing the history of all GO term changes since 2005, as well as providing GO users with a GO enrichment tool able to analyze gene sets at different points in time. The ability to run GO enrichment analyses at different points in time would greatly help in the reproducibility of experiments (24) as well as to evaluate the impact of the revisions of GO.
