high ethanol consumption. Although no causal relationship was established, these findings indicate that Zfp143 and Foxa2 could potentially coordinate the expression of genes predisposing to ethanol attraction or rejection. It would be interesting to investigate whether manipulating the expression of these two transcription factors would alter the expression of their target genes, and ultimately ethanol drinking.
