Text

Young men reported significantly higher levels of all risk behaviors. Alcohol use, drunkenness, cannabis use, and deviance showed moderate association with gender. Small but still significant gender effects were found for smoking and HIV-related sexual risk behavior. Although gender affected the intercepts, the course (slope) of most risk behaviors was independent of sex. The only exception was deviance, where females showed a slower decrease.
