Similarly one respondent expressed the opinion that fear of the unknown can deter people from participating in genetic research. “A lot of people’s concerns about genetic research is probably more from ignorance than anything else. ‘Cause a lot of genetic research is not even so much about taking medication, it’s just basically them taking some genetic material and running tests on it to see if you’re predisposed to anything.”
