From 10,000 SNP genome wide association data, we initially reported that SNP rs760288, located in the 3’ region of NRXN3, displayed allele frequencies that distinguished individuals dependent on illegal substances from control individuals in both Sample 1 and Sample 2 [11]. These observations have received support by results from Sample 6 [3] and a linkage study of opioid dependence [219].
