State measures were collected at the time of scanning. Current level of depression was assessed with the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) (50), which has been validated with 12 to 14 year-olds (51). The state portion of the Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (52) was administered to ensure that youths were not experiencing any nervousness that could influence fMRI results (53).
