each subject first met full DSM-IV criteria for SC, and whether or not each subject had ever met criteria for a full depressive episode or syndrome, using DSM-IV criteria. Best estimators independently rated the level of deterioration experienced by subjects using the measure included in the Lifetime Dimension of Psychosis Scale (Levinson et al., 2002), and the rater average was used in these analyses. Other demographic variables were captured in the DIGS. Best estimators were not aware of any of the specific hypotheses being tested in this paper.
