The summary point estimates (odds ratios) are practically not different with random versus fixed effects with 8 of the 11 pairs of estimates being identical to the second decimal point (Table 1). However, for the 5 variants with moderate to very large between-study heterogeneity, the 95% confidence intervals expand substantially with random effects calculations and p-values do not satisfy criteria for genome-wide significance (p<10−7) based on these data alone.
