2,625 offspring from 2,413 nuclear families who had at least 1 follow-up interview; 1,931 participants had a third assessment, 1,324 a fourth assessment, 842 had a fifth assessment, 428 had a sixth assessment, and thus far 8 participants have had a seventh assessment (data collection is ongoing). For the 2,625 offspring analyzed, the mean age at baseline was 17.1 years (standard deviation 3.6, range 12–26), 50.7% were female subjects, and self-reported race/ethnicity was 29.2% African American, 62.0% Caucasian, and 9.0% Asian, Pacific Islander, or “other.” Analytic sample details are presented in Table 1.
