Depressed mood was measured using the Moods and Feelings Questionnaire—short version (Angold et al. 1995). Participants responded to 13 self-report items assessing how often they have experienced signs of depression over the previous 2 weeks. Examples include “I felt miserable or unhappy”. Response options were never (0), sometimes (1), often (2), always (3). Cronbach’s alpha was 0.89.
