Text

The predominant representation of European ancestry in human genomics has negative ethical and clinical consequences25,41. Smaller sample sizes limited our ability to detect many associations among individual non-European populations. Performing a combined pan-ancestry PheWAS bolstered the association signal for several binary and quantitative traits. Altogether, these results emphasize the need to establish more diverse biobanks.
