In AA’s, neither rs1799971 nor rs17174801 were associated with drug addiction when compared to the frequencies reported in the NHLBI-ESP database (Table 1). The total rare variant burden in cases compared to controls in the AA population was not found to be statistically different (p=0.74, χ2=0.11, OR=0.94[0.71–1.25]).
