located (Figure 1): Central/Northern Amerind in Mexico City and Oriente; Chibchan-Paezan in CVCR, Medellin and Peque; Andean in Pasto, Salta, Catamarca and Quetalmahue. RGS shows no strong similarity to Natives from any linguistic stock but is the Mestizo population with greatest similarity to the Equatorial-Tucano, consistent with RGS being the Easternmost of the Mestizo populations examined (Figure 1). Overall, these observations agree with the expectation that admixture is likely to have involved mainly Natives from the region where the Mestizo populations are located.
