A variety of cortical areas may be important for the actions of alcohol, most notably the frontal cortex in terms of the cognitive effects of lower doses of alcohol. For the time being, the reliable literature on alcohol effects in many of the clearly delineated cortical areas is somewhat limited, so we have included all such studies together.
