We next examined whether physiological interaction between DISC1 and KIAA1212 occurs in hippocampal neurons. Endogenous DISC1 and KIAA1212 were co-immunoprecipitated (co-IPed) from lysates of cultured hippocampal neurons using antibodies against either DISC1 or KIAA1212 (Figure 2A; Figures S3A and S3B). Similarly, endogenous DISC1 and KIAA1212 were co-IPed from lysates of acutely dissected adult hippocampal tissues (Figure 2B; Figures S3C and S3D). Thus, DISC1 and KIAA1212 form a complex in hippocampal neurons in vivo.
