behavioral responses to ethanol in the adult animal. As an attempt to address this possibility, we examined Lmo3 expression in response to ethanol in the cortex, striatum, hippocampus, cerebellum, and olfactory bulb by qPCR, and observed no significant changes following single or repeated ethanol injections (Amy W. Lasek, Ulrike Heberlein, and David Kapfhamer, unpublished results), suggesting that Lmo3 expression is not regulated by ethanol, at least under these conditions. Future studies will examine the function of LMO3 in ethanol-related behaviors in more detail.
