Text

Human iPSC-derived PD-cell models were later used to have a mechanistic insight into the gene-environmental interaction involved in the pathogenesis of PD, such as the use of small-molecule high-throughput screening to identify new pathways (like MEF2C-PGC1α pathway) as therapeutic targets to combat PD (Ryan et al., 2013). All in all, the main aim behind the use of iPSCs technology in this context remains to be able to convert this new knowledge of PD into effective therapeutic discoveries.
