A new aspect of the EGDS is the collection of buccal cells for DNA extraction from all participants. DNA will be collected during one of the in-home assessments and returned to the Pennsylvania State University for assaying. We plan to examine candidate genes with known associations with antisocial behavior, depression, anxiety, attention problems, and/or substance use. The DNA collection will allow for an examination of specific G×E interactions and correlations.
