Eight questions from a short, modified form of the Rutgers Alcohol Problems Index (White & Labouvie, 1989) assessed young adult alcohol problems in the past year (e.g., memory loss, trouble with the police). Response options ranged from (0) “Never” to (4) “Four or more times,” and were summed to compute an overall scale (α = .89).
