The iPSYCH cohort includes relatively young individuals (mean age 23.37 years, SE=6.9, at follow-up December 31st 2016) and thus, a substantial number of those with depression will develop recurrent depression and/or comorbidities later in life. This indicates that observed risks, and likely also the differences across PRS deciles, will increase further over time. Moreover, risk prediction could probably be improved by including other risk factors such as e.g. family history93 and clinical/phenotypic variables, as it has been shown in other complex disorders94.
