Immunohistochemistry was carried out on 20-μm free-floating sections from perfused, fixed brains as described previously28,51. Mouse anti-GFP (1:8,000, Sigma) and anti-mouse IgG conjugated to Alexa Fluor 488 (1:200, Molecular Probes) antibodies were used. Sections from all experimental groups were run concurrently in the same conditions, and analyzed without knowledge of treatment group. The analysis was performed as previously described54.
