Text

Tables 3 and 4 explore relationships of LR measures to proband (Table 3) and offspring (Table 4) demography and personality test scores. In Table 3, almost all these relatively highly educated male probands were of European American (EA) ethnicity, 80% had ever been married, and about half had at least 1 child. In this sample, the probands’ LRs did not correlate significantly with their race or marital status. However, the proband’s age, sensation seeking and impulsivity scores correlated significantly with the alcohol challenge and multiple SRE scores. Therefore, the analyses described for probands in Tables 5 and 6 control for the effects of age and these personality measures. Table 4 data explore the relationships of the four SRE scores to the same demographic variables and personality scores for the 158 SDPS offspring. Here, sex, sensation seeking, and impulsivity scores correlated significantly with multiple SRE scores, and therefore, these variables are used as covariates in the analyses described in Tables 5 and 6.
