spatiotemporal regulation occurred during prenatal development. For instance, 57.7% of NCX-expressed genes were temporally DEX across fetal development (periods 3-7), in contrast to 9.1% during postnatal development (periods 8-12) and a mere 0.7% during adulthood (periods 13-15). Together, these data indicate that the majority of brain-expressed protein-coding genes are temporally and, to a lesser extent, spatially regulated, and this regulation occurs predominately during development.
