Across cohorts, there was a consistent trend of CON and HED increasing sharply from adolescence into emerging adulthood, and then leveling off or decreasing around age 22–24 (Figure 1a–b; Supplementary Table S1). This trend was also apparent in the LGC analyses, with the ISQ models, which allow for a quadratic growth factor, providing a better fit than the linear IS models in all cases (p<6.34E-08). Similar longitudinal patterns from age 18+ were observed in the older FTC sample, although there also appeared to be an uptick in AUBs later in life after age 55 (Figure 1c).
