Responses are on a 4-point Likert scale from “very hard,” “sort of hard,” “sort of easy” to “very easy”. In order to determine the impact of legalized medical cannabis on cannabis availability, an additional four questions are asked: “Is medical marijuana (marijuana prescribed by a doctor) legal in your state?” If yes, follow up questions are asked regarding how many friends or family have a prescription; how easy it would be for the child to get a prescription for medical marijuana; or how easy it would be to get medical marijuana from someone with a prescription. All parents fill out this instrument.
